Some social media tips to grow your business

Linking up social media and business is all the rave nowadays. However, this is not about posting one-liners and photos and forgetting about it. An ongoing strategy is required to keep it all in place. Here are a few tips to look out for while managing your social media accounts:

  1. Go all in and make accounts on all networks. Yes, just because you are into twitter doesn’t mean all your customers are. Having accounts on multiple platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn will be a great cross-section of a population. All networks offer different types of services and features so why not use them all?
  2. Stick to a scheduling plan. You can do this yourself, use the assistance of a Social Media Manager or download a virtual scheduler. Either way, consistency is key. You can’t post once a month and expect things to flourish. The trick is to make sure no one forgets about you yet you do not overwhelm followers with posts.
  3. Stick to networks that work better than others. Despite what I wrote above there will be social media platforms that will work better for you than others. Once you find out which one yields the best results, pay special attention to it. You see, you have to divide time; now you know time spent more on one network will be more beneficial to the business.
  4. Boring posts matter. Yes, all content can’t be fun and memes. Yes, it is important to get likes and shares but it is even more essential to get your point across more often. This means you need to post about new products, services, charity announcements, testimonials and even news. Posts have to be a balance between likable and relevant.
